Intro

We’re delighted to offer the opportunity for a vacancy for a Trainee/Semi-Senior/Part-Qualified Accountant. If you like our company vibe and feel like you would be a good fit then we invite you to apply for this vacancy.

We act for a wide range of businesses and individuals in a variety of industries providing services such as company accounts, sole trade accounts, tax returns, bookkeeping, VAT returns, CIS returns, payroll and most importantly business advice.

The role

You will be responsible for preparing company accounts, sole trade accounts, tax returns, VAT returns, CIS returns etc – all the fundamental work of an accountant in practice.

You would be working with a view to having your own portfolio of clients and liaising with and advising clients directly once settled in. We believe that the best way to look after a client is to have one point of contact for all matters pertaining to their business rather than several different people, so you would be primarily responsible for all accounting elements of client’s business.

You will receive one-to-one training from the director, a Chartered Accountant, which will allow you to further develop your knowledge and skills. You will be given the responsibility to design your own processes with a view to creating efficiencies within the practice.

As a smaller practice, you will learn and be directly involved in what it takes to run an accountancy practice and a business generally, an opportunity that very few other firms will be able to offer.

Training

We are an ACCA Platinum Approved Employer because we provide the highest level of training to our staff to help them reach their full potential.

We offer a premium service to our clients and therefore we need premium accountants to provide that service.

That means investing all the time necessary in you to ensure you become that cut above the rest.

This role comes with fully funded support and training towards your ACCA qualification, with all training, exams, study leave and professional subscriptions funded by us.

What we’re looking for

Our company ethos centres around customer service and therefore you must be confident and personable. You must also be articulate with good verbal and written communication skills.

We work with various accountancy software and Apps such as Xero and QuickBooks, so you will need to be highly computer literate and tech/App savvy.

You must be driven and motivated to continuously enhance your knowledge and be committed to studying the ACCA course.

Experience within an accountancy practice is a must.

This role is perfect for someone that feels like they aren’t getting the level of attention and training they deserve in their current role, aren’t getting the level of exposure to clients and advanced work or doesn’t enjoy the work environment and training structure of a more ‘traditional’ firm.

Entry level requirements

Ideally the candidate will be AAT Level 4 qualified or have started studying for the ACCA qualification but will consider qualified by experience.

This role is predominately office based whilst you are training, so you will need to be based within half an hour of Shoreham to be considered for this role.

Benefits

  • Highly flexible working & occasional remote working.

  • Employee carbon footprint offset.

  • Fully funded ACCA qualification training (course cost £21,000).

  • One week paid study leave for each exam.

  • ACCA membership and exam fees fully funded.

  • One-to-one training with a Chartered Accountant.

  • Regular, incremental pay rises based on exam passes.

  • Casual workplace environment.
